Poland - USA, March 24

Poland to Play USA, Again

For the 5th time since 2002, Poland has scheduled a friendly with the United States slated for March 24th in Poland. Poland has not defeated the US since they met in the 2002 World Cup where they defeated them 3:1. Since then the Americans have won two matches with the Poles by a score of 1:0 each time, as well as settling for a 1:1 draw in Chicago.

Poland's all-time record with the USA is 7-2-6. The majority of the Polish victories against the US have been by more than one goal, and the only time they won by a narrow one goal margin was back in 1973 where they won 1:0. In contrast, the Americans have had only one match where they won by more than one goal, that coming in 1990 when they beat Poland 3:1.

Poland has as many as six friendlies to warm up for the following Euro Championships (Finland, Czech Republic, Estonia, USA, Macedonia, Denmark). For the 2006 World Cup Poland played 8 friendlies beforehand (which also included a match with the USA), posting a record of 5-0-3.
